Nikki Miller-Ka is a freelance food and travel writer with experience as a private chef, butcher, baker, and biscuit maker. She has been a television host and executive producer, recipe developer, researcher, reporter, and guest blogger for various media outlets in the Southeast and on the web. Most recently she was an associate editor at Food And Wine.com. Nikki began her writing career as an editorial assistant at the Greensboro News & Record. There, Nikki honed her editorial and research skills, developed her now 16-year-old food blog, Nik Snacks, and became a contributor to Go Triad, Relish, Winston-Salem Monthly, and 1808 Greensboro magazines. Armed with an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts-Miami, a Bachelor’s degree in English, and a Master of Arts degree in Technical and Professional Communication from East Carolina University in Greenville, she travels the world eating, drinking, having a good time and living long enough to tell the story. She is a member of the James Beard Foundation Awards Restaurant and Chef Subcommittee for the Southeast and is a nationally ranked food competition judge.
